Panel Discussion: Practicing Cannabis Medicine
Dr. Gregory Smith earned his medical degree from Rush Medical School in Chicago, and a Masters of Public Health from Harvard University. He completed residency training in Preventive Medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Since leaving the U.S. Army with the rank of Major, Dr. Smith has been in primary care practice in California, Georgia, and Florida for the past 25 years. He was first trained on use of medical cannabis in 2000 in California and has made medical cannabis and CBD oil part of his practice since that time.
Dr. Smith is an avid writer, having published two medical textbooks, a novel called Malpractice, and articles in many magazines and over a dozen peer reviewed medical publications.
Dr. Smith has been working with medical cannabis-related issues full-time for the past 2½ years. He is Director of Medical Affairs for First Harvest Financial, Inc. (a cannabis business investment firm), and for CBC Biotechnologies, Inc. (a manufacturer of biosynthesized cannabinoids and terpenes). He is also Director of Medical Affairs, with Cognition Life Sciences Inc., a company currently involved with research trials of Cognizol, a THC-based nasal spray for Alzheimer's disease.
THESE ARE THE FACTS
The size of the legal marijuana market in the United States is projected to grow to at least $12.6 billion in 2016 alone according to the 2015 marijuana factbook. In 2015, marijuana sales were higher than those of Dasani, Oreos, and Girl Scout Cookies (Forbes).
Angela Ardolino attended the University of Colorado at Boulder in pursuit of a degree in Broadcast Television. In 2006, Ardolino moved to Tampa, Florida, where she founded Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine to serve as a family resource guide for West Central Florida.
Recently, Angela grew frustrated seeing countless families facing major health problems for which no traditional medical treatment or pharmacological remedy was proving effective, affordable, and safe—all while knowing that cannabis products provided relief and, oftentimes, recovery, but were not yet legal in Florida. Ardolino sold her ownership of the parenting publication to partner with Avid Growing Systems in launching CannaCure in the U.S., a company dedicated to cultivating and processing the purest medical cannabis products with the lowest environmental impact.
Pat Gagne As President and CEO of Avid Growing Systems Inc. and Founder & CEO of CannaCure Corporation, Patrick put the right team together to develop a comprehensive growing system that addresses the challenges of commercially growing marijuana.
His impressive background in the infrastructure of telephony technology and extensive experience in logistics and call centers led him to found MOS4 Inc., an enterprise specializing in VOIP. Working with a small management team, he raised and managed a budget of $2.5 million to test and apply the concept.

"Indeed, marijuana is less toxic than many of the drugs that physicians prescribe every day."

FAQ
The Cannabis Academy is the second day in this three-day workshop. This day focuses on the business aspects of the industry.
ComfyTree is going to bring to you the most up-to-date information about how to get into various aspects of the cannabis industry. We will teach you how to operate in this new market as well as common pitfalls and best practices. You'll learn how to open a dispensary and how to start a grow operation. We will also go over other hidden parts of the industry that are often overlooked by most people. There's much more to the business than growing and selling. There's going to be a demand of ancillary professionals that don't have anything to do with growing or selling the plant, and we want to inform you of all of your options.
By the end of a ComfyTree event, you should know the basics about the industry, opening a dispensary and how to grow marijuana and what you need. You'll also learn about other opportunities emerging that you can make a play for. You'll be able to decide where you want to stake your claim in the industry and you'll be confident enough to make that choice and further pursue your vision.
The full 3-day ticket purchase includes: the Medical Marijuana Symposium, Cannabis Academy, and Grow School, as well as access to our membership-only resource area and comfy discounts.
